Independent Ceramics Market is an open submission event, with preference given to applicants who are actively creating new works, or are taking new, experimental approaches in their practice.
We aspire to find the right balance of new, and returning exhibitors, while prioritising emerging, and underrepresented ceramic artists.
Ceramicists based outside of the UK are welcome to apply, and successful applicants will be contacted within a week.
Unfortunately we are unable to notify unsuccessful applicants.

Independent Ceramics Market was founded in 2015 to meet the increasing interest in ceramics—particularly within the illustration community—as well as the emergence of new studios, collectives, workspaces, and the rising number of applications from ceramic artists to our DIY Art Market.
Our ceramics market is an accessible platform for both established and early-career ceramic artists, with each event serving as an experiment in uniting emerging trends and diverse traditions within the ceramics world.
We host an international community of ceramicists, DIY potters, illustrators, students, recent graduates, studios, collectives, community organizations, and self-taught makers—all contributing to an inspiring and eclectic market experience.
Our market offers many ceramists their first opportunity to sell directly to the public, providing an affordable, informal, and inclusive space where they can showcase their work, connect with visitors, and exchange experiences and opportunities.
Our market features an extensive variety of ceramics, from beautifully crafted functional pieces to personal, colourful, experimental one-of-a-kind art sculptures.
Our events are designed to be as accessible as possible, hiring venues are wheelchair accessible / dog-friendly, and we do not take a percentage of exhibitors sales on the day. Payment methods vary by exhibitor; most accept credit and debit cards via mobile payment.
We do not censor or label exhibitors’ work; some items may not be suitable for children. We encourage parents to use their best judgment.
